Victor Prado

About

Victor Prado is a horn player whose career spans over 17 years in the jazz scene, marked by versatility and innovation in the use of the horn, with a focus on improvisei music, jazz, and Brazilian music. His work challenges the traditional boundaries of classical music.

His long-standing collaboration with rapper and singer Brisa Flow has led him to explore new musical territories where the horn is rarely featured. Victor has also performed on major international stages, including the United States, Argentina, Chile, Belgium and Canada, with appearances at renowned festivals such as the Markham Jazz Festival, Jazz at Waverley, and the Toronto Jazz Festival, Instrumental SESC Brasil, Lollapalooza, Coquetel Molotov, Psica, among others.

As a composer, Victor has been commissioned by ensembles such as the Brazilian Horn Ensemble, NuCorno Ensemble, and Ona Ensemble. He premiered one of his works with the NuCorno Ensemble at the 55th International Horn Symposium in Montreal, where he also performed as a Jazz Artist. 

He has collaborated with a wide range of artists and orchestras, including Rogério Bottermaio, Os Amanticidas, Lourenço Rebetez, Timeline Trio, Élio Camalle, KDC Guild, Progjazz do Absurdo, Coletivo Imaginário, Orquestra Jovem Tom Jobim, and Camerata Paulistana.

In addition to his artistic trajectory, Victor has been invited as a teacher and featured artist at major festivals and events, such as The International Horn Symposium, the Brazilian Horn Players’ Meeting (Encontro de Trompistas Brasileiros), and the Prados Music Festival. He is also a co-founder of the Ona Ensemble, where he works as arranger and composer.

Victor holds a Master’s degree in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil.
